A 67-year-old man with a series of drunken driving convictions in three states dating back to 1985 has been sentenced to five years with the Montana Department of Corrections for his 13th conviction of driving under the influence.
The Billings Gazette reported Robert Lee Brooks was sentenced Monday by District Judge Russell Fagg.
Brooks earlier pleaded guilty to felony DUI after being stopped for running a red light in Laurel in October 2013. Court records said his blood alcohol level was 0.210 percent, nearly three times the limit of 0.08 at which a person is considered legally intoxicated.
Prosecutors say Brooks was convicted of DUI in Utah in 1985, has 11 convictions in Wyoming between 1997 and 2010 and one in Montana in 2002.
