A lawsuit filed in the death of a man who drowned when a fishing vessel sank nearly three years ago has been settled.
The Oregonian newspaper reported the estate of David Terris sued the owner of the commercial fishing boat and the Swedish maker of a life-raft release mechanism. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Terris was a member of the Sound Leader, a crab-fishing boat that sank in rough waters near Newport, Oregon, in July 2012.
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued the other three members of the crew.
