Gov. Jerry Brown says the state is gearing up for California’s worst fire season ever.
Brown told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that the nearly dozen fires in San Diego County that destroyed 11 homes and caused $20 million in damage last week mark only the beginning of what’s to come in the hotter months.
He says California’s appropriated $600 million to fighting fires and has 5,000 firefighters.

Brown says he expects the state will need thousands of more firefighters in the future because of climate change.
