Thousands of people were without power as of Sunday evening in Washington state following Saturday’s wind storm.
The storm knocked out power to about 150,000 people in the Puget Sound region. About 10,000 were still without power on Sunday in King, Kitsap and Snohomish counties.
In addition to knocking down trees and knocking out power, the high winds on Saturday forced a temporary closure of the Highway 520 bridge across Lake Washington. The Washington State Patrol said drivers in about 50 cars abandoned their vehicles on the bridge for a period of time.
