A winter storm is heading out of Southern California after dumping an inch or more of rain in some areas and contributing to at least one traffic death.
The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms will linger through part of Tuesday. The mountains in Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties could also see an inch or more of snow before the storm leaves.
On Monday, the storm dropped more than three-quarters of an inch of rain in downtown Los Angeles and an inch or more elsewhere. Mountains got a dusting of snow but major passes remain open.
In Escondido, a 48-year-old man was killed and two other people injured Monday on Interstate 15 when a car spun out of control on the slick road and hit a van.
