The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the number of people who died on the state’s highways decreased in 2009.
The Highway Patrol said there where 116 fatal crashes in 2009, compared to 140 in 2008. A total of 134 people died in the crashes in 2009, a number that was also lower than 2008 when a total of 159 people were killed.
Patrol officials say having less commercial vehicles involved in accidents contributed to the drop in fatalities. Officials say there were also less alcohol-related crashes and multi-vehicle accidents.
