Texting while driving is now a crime in Utah.
And for those who don’t know it, a new public-service DVD about an accident that killed two people when a driver who was texting collided with another vehicle will serve as a reminder.
Producers say the documentary will be available for driver education courses and on the Utah Department of Transportation’s Web site.
The production is part of the sentencing agreement involving a 22-year-old man who pleaded guilty to two counts of negligent homicide in January.
Prosecutors say the driver was texting when his SUV clipped the bumper of a car, which went out of control and was broadsided by a large pickup in September.
