Risk Placement Services of Scottsdale, Ariz., has promoted Douglas B. Rutherford from area vice president, sales in underwriting and brokering to area president/branch manager. He will be responsible for the operations of RPS Scottsdale and its satellite locations in Washington, Idaho and Wyoming.
Rutherford has been with RPS Scottsdale for more than five years, and has more than a 30-year career in the surplus lines industry. Previous to RPS, he held executive positions at American Equity, Nautilus, and Great Southwest Fire. He has been in Arizona for more than 24 years, having relocated from the Chicago area.
