There were 35 workers who died in accidents on the job in Oregon last year, the third-lowest total in state history.
The state began tracking workplace deaths in 1943, averaging 81 per year in the 1980s and falling to 55 a year in the 1990s.
The Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services said the lowest total was 31 in 2005.
The largest number of accidental deaths last year was in construction, with 12, followed by agriculture, forestry and fishing with five for that group.
Nearly a third of the total deaths resulted from falls.
