EMB America, a property and casualty actuarial consulting firm, announced that Robin Harbage has joined the company as senior consultant. He will work in the company’s San Diego office.

Prior to EMB, Harbage worked for Progressive and Nationwide in both actuarial and product development functions. At Progressive, he began as chief actuary working up to general manager of the north region, and was responsible for introducing new and creative products to previously untapped market segments.

Harbage is also involved extensively with actuarial industry associations. He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. This appointment closely follows that of Alice Gannon, who joined EMB as a senior consultant in July 2007 from USAA where she was chief actuary.
