The current state of the surplus lines industry and its carriers will be the focus of the major program at the 2007 Western States Surplus Lines Conference, set for June 19-23 in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch.
Representatives of Wellington Specialty, XL Excess & Surplus Lines; Colony Insurance Co., Scottsdale Insurance Co., Nautilus Insurance Co., and Markel Southwest Underwriters will participate in a panel discussion on the state of surplus lines carriers.
Other programs include a scheduled welcome by Arizona Insurance Director Christina Urias. Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano also has been invited to speak.

The Western States Conference is rotated annually among the eight western surplus lines associations. The Surplus Lines Associations involved in hosting the conference are the Surplus Lines Associations of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. The 2008 conference will hosted by Oregon.
