Bickmore Risk Services, an independent risk management service company in Sacramento, Calif., has appointed of Mark Ferraro as director for the firm’s risk management consulting practice. Formerly a senior vice president in the public entity practice of Marsh USA Inc., Ferraro brings more than 25 years of public entity and nonprofit risk management consulting experience to the firm.

Ferraro’s role as director of the risk management consulting practice within Bickmore Risk Services will include delivering risk management strategies to the clients of the firm, as well as new client development.

In addition to being a past president of the Public Risk Management Association and a frequent speaker on the topics of public entity risk management, Ferraro has been exclusively involved with public entities and nonprofit agencies as a risk manager, consultant, and industry sales specialist. He has been the risk manager of the cities of Dallas and San Antonio, as well as an independent risk management consultant and practice leader of brokerage services for the world’s largest insurance broker.
