Redwood City, Calif.-based InsWeb is the most valuable site at which to shop for auto insurance, according to Forbes. The magazine’s Summer 2000, “Best of the Web” issue lists InsWeb as the “Forbes Favorite” among 17 auto insurance sites reviewed.
In its review, Forbes critiques InsWeb’s site. They believe that the best part of the site is the investigative reports on such subjects as vehicle crash worthiness, and that the worst part is the lengthy application. Forbes honored InsWeb for its depth of participating auto insurers, range of customer service channels and wealth of research tools.
InsWeb’s online marketplace also enables consumers to comparison shop for term life, homeowners and health insurance. In addition to InsWeb being named “Forbes Favorite” the following other auto insurance Web sites earned Forbes “Best of the Web” designation: www.aigdirect.com, www.esurance.com, www.geico.com, www.insureone.com, www.progressive.com, www.insuremarket.com, www.reliaquote.com and www.Youdecide.com.
