To address the property insurance needs of industrial and commercials properties in Atlanta and the surrounding region, XL Group has appointed Mike Smith as the new Southeast regional underwriting leader in its North America Property insurance business.

Based in Atlanta, Smith reports to Senior Vice President and Head of North America General Property Wade Pitman.

Smith returns to Atlanta after working in San Francisco as ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s regional underwriting manager for the Northwest where he addressed the insurance and loss prevention needs of large, complex commercial properties. Prior to his most recent position, Smith spent nearly two decades in Atlanta with ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ and Industrial Risk Insurers.

XL’s North America property coverages include equipment breakdown, general property and property for energy companies.
