The Hilb Group, LLC said it has acquired Hockman Insurance Agency Inc. of Tampa, Florida.
The transaction was effective January 1, 2014. Terms were not disclosed.
Hockman Insurance will continue to operate at its current location under the leadership of Ron Hockman. Founded in 1961, the agency provides commercial and personal insurance.
The Hilb Group was founded in 2009 by Robert H. Hilb, the former founder, CEO and chairman of Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs, and Robert J. Hilb, a former corporate vice president of HRH. The Hilb Group makes targeted acquisitions in the middle market insurance brokerage space. The company is headquartered in Richmond and has offices in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland and New York.
