State Farm says West Virginia continues to be the state where a vehicle is most likely to hit a deer.
State Farm says the odds of a deer-vehicle collision over the next year are 1 in 40 in West Virginia.
Virginia is ranked 10th with odds of 1 in 103.
Hawaii motorists are least likely to hit a deer with their vehicles. Hawaii’s odds are 1 in 6,801.
Nationwide, State Farm says client data show 1.23 million collisions between deer and vehicles between July 1, 2011, and June 30 1, 2012. That’s up 7.7 percent from the previous one-year period.
