South Carolina Agriculture Commissioner Hugh Weathers is urging residents to think about their animals and livestock with Tropical Storm Hanna spinning at sea.
The National Hurricane Center projects the storm could affect South Carolina’s north coast by early on Sept. 6.
Weathers says people should not wait until an evacuation order to begin thinking about how they will shelter and feed their animals.
He says they should arrange in advance to evacuate horses, make sure there is enough food and drinking water on hand for animals and that the food is kept dry.
