An Olive Hill, Ky., man received a sentence of 20 days in jail after presenting a fake auto insurance card to the Carter County clerk.
Daniel D. McGlone, 49, entered guilty pleas on two misdemeanor counts of insurance fraud and one misdemeanor count of unlawful transaction with a minor. The charges were amended from three felony counts.
According to court records, McGlone asked his son, then a minor, to create the phony card on his home computer. McGlone used the card on two occasions in October 2007 while registering his vehicles.
The case was investigated by the Insurance Fraud Investigation Division of the Kentucky Office of Insurance.
