West Virginbia’s Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the Insurance Commissioner’s Fraud Unit indicted Foster Glen Carnes of Marion County earlier this month on one felony count of filing a fraudulent insurance claim.
Carnes, 28, of Morgantown, allegedly submitted an insurance claim in 2004 for an accident that occurred prior to the effective date of his insurance policy. Carnes was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury Feb. 7.
If convicted, Carnes faces one to 10 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000; both are at the discretion of the court. A trial date has not been set.
