Enforcement investigators of Insurance Commissioner John W. Oxendine’s office in Atlanta have seized records and computers from a Moultrie, Ga. insurance agency that has been implicated in possible fraudulent activities.
Insurance Unlimited of Moultrie, at 321 North Main Street, was the subject of a search warrant executed by Oxendine’s Enforcement Division.
“We received complaints indicating that this agency was not forwarding premiums to the appropriate insurance companies,” Oxendine said. “It is also our belief that Insurance Unlimited of Moultrie is operating without a current agency license.”
“We’ll examine the records confiscated today in Moultrie for possible evidence of fraud, and to be sure that all clients of this agency got the coverage they paid for,” Oxendine said.
