Georgia-based Palmer & Cay Inc., one of the nation’s privately-held insurance brokerage and benefits consulting firms, has named Christopher Sachs as chief financial officer, according to John Cay III, chairman and CEO.
Sachs, a 27-year veteran of the corporate finance field, will be responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting functions for Palmer & Cay and its subsidiaries. He will report directly to the chairman.
Prior to joining Palmer & Cay, Sachs held senior financial management positions with two multi-national companies for more than 20 years. In 1984 Sachs joined Outboard Marine Corporation as director of taxes and was promoted to treasurer for the billion-dollar organization in 1992. In 1996 he was named treasurer of Cleveland-based M.A. Hanna Company and its successor entity Polyone Corporation, a $2.6 billion global chemical manufacturer.
Established in 1868 in Savannah, Ga., Palmer & Cay operates offices in 38 cities in 22 states and employs approximately 1,000 associates.
