Florida-based Vanguard Fire & Casualty Company appointed Richard Magsam to the position of controller. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations and financial reporting of the company’s accounting department.
Magsam is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience in accounting management and financial reporting. Prior to joining Vanguard, Magsam served as director of Corporate Finance for FCCI Insurance Company.
His responsibilities included managing the corporate tax, statistical reporting and planning/analysis functions as well as overseeing corporate merger and acquisition activities.
Vanguard was established in the wake of Hurricane Andrew to provide an additional source of homeowners’ insurance coverage for Florida residents. It is owned by independent agents.
