Louisiana Congressman Garret Graves, St. Charles Parish President Matthew Jewell, FEMA representatives, and members from the St. Charles Parish Council will host a townhall meeting on Thursday, March 3, 2022, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to discuss FEMA’s new National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) – called “Risk Rating 2.0” – at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Pkwy, Luling, LA 70070.
Residents can expect to hear how the new policy will affect flood insurance rates and steps that Louisiana’s Congressional Delegation are taking to address necessary changes to the policy.
Risk Rating 2.0 could cause hikes for 90% of voluntary policyholders in single-family homes according to FEMA.
