AM Best has assigned a Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” to Trisura Insurance Co. (TIC), based in Oklahoma City.
The outlook assigned to these ratings is stable.
The ratings reflect TIC’s balance sheet strength, which AM Best categorizes as very strong, as well as its adequate operating performance, limited business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.
The ratings of TIC also reflect an intercompany pooling agreement with its immediate parent, Trisura Specialty Insurance Co. (TSI). Additionally, the ratings consider the commonality in management, infrastructure, operational capabilities, and systems between the two companies.
According to information on its website, TSI focuses on the program market, with a target size for its programs of between $5 million and $20 million in annual premiums. The company writes a broad range of lines and risk types.
TSI is a subsidiary of Trisura Group Ltd., an international specialty insurance provider operating in the surety, risk solutions, corporate insurance and reinsurance segments of the market. Trisura Group Ltd. is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol TSU.
