Veterans applying for insurance licenses with the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) are now eligible for reimbursement of the required exam fees.
The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs recently approved the LDI’s application to participate in the Veterans Federal Exam Reimbursement Program effective Nov. 1, 2018.
Veterans will need to pay any fees upfront at the time they take a licensing exam. Upon completion of the exam, eligible veterans have one year to apply for reimbursement of the fees through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). There is no limit on the number of tests an individual may take, or the number of times the same test is taken.
The following license types are eligible for fee reimbursement: automobile adjuster, bail bond, casualty, commercial lines adjuster, crop adjuster, health/ accident, industrial fire, life, life, health/ accident, property, property casualty adjuster, personal lines adjuster, personal lines producer, property/ casualty, public adjuster, surety, surplus lines, title and workers’ compensation adjuster.
