Karen Clark & Co. has estimated the June 6 hailstorm that pummeled North Texas will generate around $1 billion in insured losses to residential and commercial properties and automobiles.
Baseball sized hail was reported in Dallas, Tarrant and Denton counties during the storm.

The hailstorm caused significant damage to automobiles in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The majority of residential and commercial damage is expected to occur to roofs, windows, skylights, and solar panels.

KCC noted that the Insurance Council of Texas reported an initial estimate of 20,000 residential structures and 25,000 automobiles damaged.
The storm produced destructive hail for nearly an hour and dissipated south of Arlington around 3:00am CDT on June 6.
