A new federal report says 120 Louisiana workers died on the job last year 鈥� six more than in 2013.
New Orleans City Business reports that the Bureau of Labor Statistics found the largest number of such deaths 鈥� 37 鈥� were in trade, transportation and utilities.
That was followed by natural resources and mining with 23, construction with 19, government with 12, professional and business services with seven and manufacturing with seven.
A news release says five local government workers died as a result of transportation accidents, while the professional and business services sector includes landscaping and building services workers who died as a result of a slip, trip or fall.
