The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved disaster assistance for 18 additional Oklahoma counties as a result of storms and flooding that battered the state last month.
Gov. Mary Fallin’s spokesman Alex Weintz says FEMA notified state officials that the additional counties had been added.
The agency approved individual assistance for Choctaw, Cotton, Rogers and Tillman counties, which makes federal assistance available for housing and business repairs.
The federal agency also approved public assistance for 14 other counties, which makes federal funds available to reimburse cities, counties and electric cooperatives for storm-related cleanup.
Those counties are: Craig, Custer, Dewey, Grant, Jefferson, Kay, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Major, Noble, Oklahoma, Ottawa, Roger Mills and Wagoner.
