Alain A. Bellet, owner and president of Capstone Underwriters LLC, in Dallas, Texas, has been awarded the Medal of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, the highest decoration given by the government of France.

The order of the Legion of Honor was created by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802 to provide a recognition of merit for civilians and soldiers.
Bellet came to Dallas in April 1974 to create Scor Re, the subsidiary of France’s largest reinsurance company, Societe Commercial de Reassurance (SCOR).
He formed the French American Chamber of Commerce of Dallas/Ft. Worth (FACC) in 1979, and still serves as its Honorary President. Annually, the FACC presents the Alain Bellet Award to their Person of the Year.
Bellet also served on the board of the Dallas International School (DIS) for six years, and has been Chairman of the Board of the Orchestra of New Spain since 2003.
