Becky Jackson of Austin, Texas, has been appointed by the Texas Department of Insurance to serve as a public representative member on the governing committee of the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association.

Jackson was recommended by Office of Public Insurance Counsel Executive Director Deeia Beck. Jackson worked for OPIC for over twenty years prior to her retirement from state service. She was OPlC’s auto research analyst and as such was responsible for monitoring TAIPA issues.

TAIPA was created by state statute and its purpose is to make automobile bodily injury and property damage liability insurance required by the Texas Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act available to eligible applicants, subject to the rules of the Association.
