Changes in the billing and commission program at Texas’ insurer of last resort for coastal property will prompt a shut down of the agency’s E-Quote system over the long New Year holiday weekend.
Due to the conversion of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s website to implement the billing and commission program, TWIA’s E-Quote system will be shut down beginning at 5 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2011, and will re-open on Jan. 3, 2012, at 8:00 a.m. The policyholder portal will also be unavailable.
Any transactions processed in TWIA’s office after Jan. 1, 2012, will require gross premium, including surcharges if applicable, regardless of effective date.
If an agent’s gross premium payment is processed after the end of the year, TWIA will post the commission to the January commission statement paid on the fifth business day of February.
TWIA has posted on its website aimed at facilitating more efficient and effective policy issuance.
