The Fort Worth, Texas, Chapter of Certified Property Casualty Underwriters has presented $10,000 in scholarships to seven students in Risk Management and Insurance studies at the University of North Texas.
The chapter has requested an additional $6,000 in scholarship money from the Loman Foundation.
Students receiving the CPCU scholarships are: William Hamilton; Candice Herring; Ingrid Reeves; Lauren Sandlin; Rachel Alexander-Lindsey; Audrea Slaughter; and Rachel Somerford.
In addition, UNT Risk Management and Insurance students recently raised $18,000 at the John H. Thornton Charity Golf Classic hosted by the Texas Risk and Insurance Professional Society (TRIPS). The scholarships will be awarded Dec. 3.
