XL Catlin has announced the regional expansion of its Hartford-based Professional Liability underwriting operations, establishing offices in New York, Chicago, Denver and Toronto.
According to Dan Kumpf, chief executive of XL Catlin’s Global Professional business, the company wants to enhance its footprint outside of the centralized operation in Hartford by placing offices in closer proximity to customers.
XL Catlin has recruited Raymond Santiago as senior vice president of underwriting based in New York. Santiago joins XL Catlin from ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ where he recently served as regional executive for the New York and Mid-Atlantic region. He brings two decades of directors and officers (D&O) underwriting to XL Catlin’s New York-based team, which includes Vice President Greg McCoy and Assistant Vice President Cristian Smith, who are both relocating to New York from Hartford.
XL Catlin’s Chicago operation will be led by Senior Vice President of Professional Underwriting Greg Lenihan, who is relocating from Hartford to serve brokers and clients specifically in Chicago and throughout the Central U.S.
Brian Jones, vice president of underwriting, will be relocating to Denver to enhance the production efforts including an emphasis on West Coast business.
In Toronto, Christopher Lawrence, assistant vice president, will manage XL Catlin’s Canadian professional liability business.
