General Star Management Co. has appointed Marsh U.S. Consumer, a service of Seabury & Smith, Inc., as the exclusive program administrator for its Real Estate Agents & Brokers, and Real Estate Appraisers programs. Marsh U.S. Consumer will assume program administrator responsibilities effective June 1, 2011. The two programs are currently administered by Herbert H. Landy Insurance Agency, Inc., Needham, Massachusetts.
Key features include limits up to $2,000,000/$2,000,000, a short form online application process, full prior acts for qualified applicants and access to a toll-free pre-claim assistance line. Specialized coverages consist of sellers E&O, notary, discrimination, data privacy, limited pollution, franchisor protection and a mortgage brokerage extension.
Coverage will be available on an admitted basis in all states by General Star National Insurance Co. or General Star Indemnity Co., except for real estate agents in California which will remain a non-admitted product. Both companies are rated A++ (Superior) by A.M. Best Company and carry an AA+ Insurance Financial Strength Rating from Standard & Poor’s Corp.
