Global specialty insurer Ironshore Inc. is starting a dedicated Life Science Practice Unit. Linda McLaughlin has been appointed as senior vice president to lead it.
Ironshore’s Life Science practice will underwrite general and product liability insurance coverages for biotechnology companies, specialty and generic pharmaceutical companies, medical products and medical device manufacturers, as well as industry distributors. Life Science will be a unit of IronHealth, the specialty division of Ironshore dedicated to the healthcare industry.
McLaughlin has held various positions at ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ and its surplus lines company, Lexington, for nearly 20 years. Most recently, she served as vice president of Lexington’s Products Liability Division with the Healthcare unit. She worked with life science clients within the directors and officers Liability division of Lexington, with particular focus on the biotechnology sector.
McLaughlin will be joined by a team of specialty sector underwriters located in various Ironshore offices throughout the country, including:
Valerie Marsiano, vice president, San Francisco/Los Angeles, with more than 25 years experience, who joins Ironshore from CNA’s Life Science division.
Barbara Pasternack,vice president, Chicago , who previously served with ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Lexington Products Liability Insurance sector for the Life Science industry, with 20 years experience.
Angela Nadeau, assistant vice president, Dallas, with 20 years underwriting experience in general casualty, package coverages, and products liability, more recently as life science specialist with ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Lexington Insurance Healthcare Division.
