American International Group has named Robert G. Gifford as president and chief executive officer of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Real Estate, the international real estate investment organization.
Gifford’s experience includes 22 years with AEW Capital Management, L.P., a Boston-based real estate investment management advisor. Prior to AEW, Gifford worked for The Rouse Co., a developer and owner of regional shopping centers, urban
mixed use projects and planned communities.
Gifford succeeds Jeffrey Hurd, senior vice president and head of asset management restructuring and ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ chief administrative officer, who has been serving as interim president and CEO of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Real Estate. Hurd will resume his previous responsibilities on a full-time basis.
ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Real Estate invests in, develops, and manages $24.3 billion of real estate in 50 countries for clients and other ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ companies. In conjunction with the overall restructuring of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½, the company has previously announced its intention to divest certain
holdings in its real estate business and reduce its global footprint.
