ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Seeks New CFO as Bensinger Moves to Financial Services

American International Group, Inc. (ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½) is in the market for a new chief financial officer (CFO), having appointed its current CFO to a new post.

ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ announced that Steven J. Bensinger, currently CFO and executive vice president, is now vice chairman of Financial Services. In his new role, Bensinger will be responsible for operations across ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Financial Services businesses, which specialize in aircraft and equipment leasing, capital markets, consumer finance and insurance premium finance. He will also continue his involvement in ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s corporate strategy and corporate development activities.

ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ said a search is underway to identify Bensinger’s successor as CFO. He will continue in that role until the search is completed.

ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ also said it plans to create a chief administrative officer position to allow greater focus in both financial and administrative matters.

William N. Dooley, senior vice president of Financial Services, will continue to focus on ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Financial Services businesses in his current position, reporting to Bensinger. Dooley will also continue as interim head of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Financial Products Corp. (ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½FP) until a successor is named.

Bensinger joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ as treasurer in October 2002. He was elected an ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ senior vice president and named treasurer and comptroller in January 2005. He was named executive vice president and CFO in March 2005.
