has expanded coverage in the medical facilities market, because the company said it recognized that today medical care goes far beyond the traditional hospital or doctor’s office. “Physicians and caregivers are treating patients in a variety of facilities, from urgent care clinics to drug and rehabilitation centers,” the company said.
“This is an industry that we already have a longstanding relationship with,” said John Chace, vice president and executive product director of Professional Liability at Fireman’s Fund. “We currently provide liability coverage for more than 200,000 health care professionals across the country, so this is a natural progression.”
The company will now consider submissions for a range of facilities, including home health, medical centers, medical group homes, social service centers, ambulatory surgery centers, testing and treatment labs, urgent care facilities, dialysis centers, and more.
Along with its current coverage for healthcare professionals, this expansion by Fireman’s Fund in the medical facilities market links general liability, professional liability, excess, inland marine, and related property all in one place.
