American International Group Inc. announced that Michael E. Roemer will join the company as director of internal audit and will be appointed a senior vice president. Roemer succeeds Keith L. Duckett, who has been named ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ vice president of administration.
Roemer will report directly to the audit committee of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ board of directors and administratively to Steven J. Bensinger, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Roemer was previously with JP Morgan Chase, where he was responsible for overall audit coverage of finance, risk management, commercial banking and the trust, custody and cash management businesses, as well as the overall administration of the general audit department. He spent 20 years as an auditing professional with JP Morgan Chase in positions of increasing responsibility.
In his new post, Duckett will have responsibility for ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Global Security, Global Sourcing and Global Real Estate/Facilities and “will identify opportunities to provide enhanced service, support and efficiency to ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s worldwide businesses,” according to the company. He will report to Bensinger. Duckett joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s internal audit division in 1987 and held various management positions within the division. He was named ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ director of internal audit in 1995.
