American International Group, Inc. (ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½) has announced that Robert S. Schimek will join ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Domestic Brokerage Group, its commercial property-casualty insurance organization in the United States. He will report to Kristian P. Moor, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ executive vice president, Domestic General Insurance and to Steven J. Bensinger, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ executive vice president and chief financial officer. Schimek succeeds Robert P. Jacobson, who has been named ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ vice president for strategic planning.
Schimek joins ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ from Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he was a partner. He brings 18 years of public accounting experience with a diverse range of financial institutions, including large firms in the insurance and mortgage banking industries.
As vice president for strategic planning, Jacobson will work to identify growth opportunities for ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ worldwide. He reports to Brian T. Schreiber, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ senior vice president for strategic Planning. Jacobson joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ in 1998 as vice president and deputy comptroller focusing on special projects including mergers and acquisitions. He was named ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ vice president, Domestic General Insurance and senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Domestic Brokerage Group in 1999. He was named a Domestic Brokerage Group executive vice president in 2003.
