Lloyd’s U.S. office announced the appointment of Thor Valdmanis as vice president, Communications for North America. In the newly created post, he will be responsible for all media activities and promotions in the region.
He will be based in Lloyd’s New York office and “will work closely with The Torrenzano Group, our U.S. PR Agency,” said the announcement. “He will report to Wendy Baker, president of Lloyd’s America and will take up his post this Monday May 16.
“Thor is an experienced financial journalist, having most recently worked at USA Today as Senior Wall Street Reporter, and previously at the London Evening Standard. We are delighted he is joining us,” the bulletin continued.
Lloyd’s also noted that as of Monday it will occupy new offices alongside a prestigious neighbor, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
