A new conference, “Law & Policy on the Internet: A Forum for the Insurance Industry,” is set for Jan. 7-8, 2002, in Washington, D.C.
This event offers the latest analysis of online insurance administration.
Speakers include senior partners from the leading e-business law firms, as well as experts on intellectual property, online privacy, data security, and the new regulatory landscape.
The conference will be chaired by Alston & Bird partner Gerry Mize, who will also speak on “Navigating the regulatory landscape for electronic benefit plan administration.” Mize leads Alston & Bird’s Adversarial Insurance Practice Team in Atlanta.
The first exercise will allow participants to assess their companies’ online privacy policies and the privacy implications of their data practices.
The second exercise will focus on electronic brokered transactions. The instructor will walk attendees through a mock insurance website, illustrating some of the legal mistakes that can arise and how to avoid them.
