Direct Employers Reinsurance Corp., a GE company, has named William O’Donnell and Kenneth W. Brandt to key leadership positions in its property and casualty reinsurance business in the Americas.
O’Donnell will lead GE Reinsurance, the company’s broker market treaty reinsurance business. O’Donnell joined ERC in 1981 after three years as a primary underwriter at Continental Insurance Company.
During his 20 years at ERC, he has held a variety of roles in marketing and underwriting before assuming leadership of the North American P&C reinsurance business in 1998. O’Donnell replaces James R. Miller, who is leaving the company.
Brandt will replace O’Donnell as the leader of ERC’s direct treaty reinsurance business in North America. He has been leading the specialty insurers customer segment at ERC for the past two years.
Brandt began his career at ERC as a facultative casualty underwriter in 1993 after five years as an underwriter and underwriting manager at ITT Hartford in Los Angeles.
