An alliance between Home Depot and Allstate Insurance Co. has the home improvement retailer supplying materials for home repairs to Allstate customers. The alliance started in January, but was not announced until this week.
The alliance is expected to save Allstate $30 million to $50 million in claims expenses this year alone. Those savings should increase in future years. The agreement allows Allstate adjusters to work with Home Depot stores to provide repair materials and installation. Initially, the agreement will apply to only flooring replacement.
