Van Riet Promoted to Director of Operations at Compass Specialty Risk

Jamie Van Riet has been promoted to the role of Director of Operations at Middleton, Wis.-based Compass Specialty Risk LLC.

Van Riet previously worked as an account manager for Compass Specialty Risk and oversaw compliance for the company.

She will now oversee the company’s accounting, surplus lines, tax compliance, as well as training and development of the organization’s account managers. Van Riet will also be responsible for oversight of the company’s retail agency management and distribution strategy.

Prior to joining Compass Specialty Risk, Van Riet held positions with Stassen Insurance, as well as Socius Insurance Services.

Compass Specialty is privately held and was established in April 2015. Managing Director Michael Morman said the firm expects to triple in size in 2016.

The company’s current focus is on property, casualty, executive and professional liability along with transportation. It recently launched a workers’ compensation division and also introduced a small business platform called Select by Compass.
