Property and Casualty Division of the Kansas Insurance Department (KID) has raised the bar when it comes to reviewing new rate and form filings from insurance companies, the department announced.
Kansas Commissioner of Insurance Sandy Praeger recently honored the 12-person division for their work in reducing the average number of days it takes to review and decide upon companies’ rate filings and form changes.
The average for insurance departments across the United States is 40 days. The KID average is now 12, and has been for the past year.
In 2011, the department’s property and casualty division received a total of 5,036 filings.
