Missouri Gov.-elect Jay Nixon picks his general counsel from the attorney general’s office to hold the same job in the governor’s office.
Nixon said Nov. 12 that Ted Ardini will be the top legal adviser for governor’s office starting in January 2009.
The 42-year-old Ardini, of Columbia, has worked for the attorney general for the last 16 years. He’s been Nixon’s top legal adviser since 2003. Before that, Ardini was the head attorney in the public safety division.
In a written statement, Nixon praised Ardini for managing complex legal issues.
Ardini has a degree in political science from Merrimack College in Massachusetts and a law degree from the New England School of Law in Boston.
