The North Dakota State Attorney General’s office says a North Dakota workers’ compensation executive who asked to be reinstated needs to take the request to that agency.
Assistant Attorney General Tag Anderson says his office does not have the authority to direct personnel decisions at Workforce Safety and Insurance (WSI).
Thirty-eight-year-old James Long, chief of support services for the workers’ comp agency, was placed on paid administrative leave November 15 and temporarily banned from the WSI building and computer systems while the agency reevaluated his role.
Long is one of five WSI employees who said they want whistleblower protection for reporting suspected wrongdoing. He asked the attorney general last Tuesday to reinstate him.
