The board of North Dakota’s troubled workers compensation agency has voted to hire an outside consultant to review its operations.
After meeting for about an hour behind closed doors, the board decided that a three-person team representing the Workforce Safety and Insurance Agency, Gov. John Hoeven’s office and the state auditor’s office will lead the search for the consultant.
The search team is to decide within 10 days the scope of the consultant’s review.
Hoeven has urged the board to hire a consultant to help resolve management problems at the Workforce Safety agency. He’s suggested the consultant could give advice on personnel issues and handling claims.
