Mutual of Omaha Chairman and CEO Dan Neary today announced the appointment of David A. Diamond as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Diamond comes to Mutual of Omaha from Nationwide, an insurance and financial services organization headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. He most recently served as president and managing director for Nationwide Global, the company’s international insurance operations.
The newly created CFO position will be responsible for all the financial operations of the company and will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities.
Diamond, a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, began his financial career as an accountant at Ernst & Young. He moved to Nationwide in 1988 and served in a variety of key positions throughout the organization, including senior VP and Corporate Controller; senior VP, corporate strategy; and managing director, Nationwide Strategic Investment Fund.
